Are We in the Days Like Those of Noah?

Just recently I was asked if things will get any better in this world in which we live and my response was “things are going to get worse.” However, my point of view is certainly not the opinion of main stream America. Our current administration used the slogans of Change (2008) and Forward (2012) to win both elections with the promise a brighter future. We are learning that the future is promising for the gay, bi-sexual, lesbian, and transgender in relation to the legalization of same sex marriage, openness of the boy scouts, plus easier adoptions. Islam in America is spreading by leaps and bounds with the support of many American government officials.

For example:FLOOD-2 copy

  • Dearborn, Michigan, McDonald’s Restaurant sued over alleged Halal (Muslim sensitive) meals. $700,000 awarded. Meat served in Halal meals must be slaughtered in the name of Allah. Read here
  • Skokie, Illinois, drops Veterans Day holiday but adds Muslim celebration of EID. Read here.
  • Pressured by Islamic leaders*, Obama Administration eliminates mention of “Islamic Terrorism” or any negative mention of Islam, including simple quotes from the Qur’an – from CIA, FBI, Homeland Security, and US Military Training Manuals (Nov. 2011). Read here.
  • Read letter containing list of complaints and demands from Islamic groups to (then) Deputy National Security Advisor (now) CIA Director, John Brennan here.

In March 2011, Resolution 16/18 passed the UN General Assembly at the behest of the powerful 57 member Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), making it a hate crime if a second party is incited to violence because of speech opposing the religious beliefs of others. Amazingly, although it contradicts the First Amendment of the US Constitution, then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton  helped write this UN Resolution! In December 2011, Clinton hosted the UN Secretary General and an OIC delegation in Washington to discuss implementation of UN Resolution 16/18 in the United States. Not to mention the forward movement or advancement of Plan Parenthood, Women in combat, Government surveillance, Gun running, Abortion on demand, etc.

We are told that like in the days of Noah men did what was right in their own eyes and that “every intent of the thoughts of their heart was only evil continually (Genesis 6:5).” Nevertheless, we see in our society similar, if not identical behavior in men, woman, and children who live lawlessly. In other words, contrary to God’s laws, precepts, instructions, and commandments. We are told in chapter twenty-four of the gospel according to Matthew, that before Christ’s return the world will be characterized by godlessness. “For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah.” So, how should believers respond? I expect that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ would expect us to immolate Noah. While preparing to be rescued by God through the safety of the Ark, Noah preached and witnessed to the people of his day. While pre-tribulation believers await the eminent return of Christ, we too must share the “Good News” with lost people. It was God who closed the door behind Noah (7:16), only after he did “all that he was commanded to do.” (6:22, 7:5, 7:16)

In like manner, should the people of God expect the rapture of the church to occur before it has accomplished our assignment to fulfill the Great Commission? It appears to me that the possible catalyst for the Lord’s return might be the “fullness of the Gentiles has come in.” (Romans 11:25) They come in and the church age ends through hearing and believing the gospel!
